I smoked a bongful of Fruit Loops and Fruit Loops and hunkered down w/ this incredible, enveloping slab. Not sure where Axacan is, but while there, Mr. Bachman apparently absorbed the Numero Group’s Environments series as well as Steve Reich, Lamonte Young, thunderstorms, a ragged Oldsmobile, John Fahey’s City of Refuge, a touch of Sun City Girls… and possibly an alligator? Another masterwork with many layers I look fwd to unfolding. Otis Nugatory

What an album. Dark, disturbing ambient noise tracks sit uncomfortably alongside roughly gorgeous acoustic guitar pieces. Part John Fahey, part Amps for Christ, and still all its own. Anyone who can make an 18 minute noise piece feel like no time at all is a genius. Levrikon
